A thirteen year old asked the greatest investor of all time this question,” What high school class or activity influenced you to who you are today as the greatest investor of all time?” As said by the greatest investor of all time, he said reading, curiosity and a good environment can help influence your life, even when you are in high school. He read a lot of books and he also said he had at least ten people who influenced and had a huge impact on his life, and every one of them mattered. He said he went in a public library and read every book there was on investments. This allows us to infer reading books allowed him to learn a lot about the world of investments. Having curiosity and a sympathetic teacher is also helpful in terms of learning more about what you want to learn. He focused on what he actually wanted to learn and did not focus too much on his other classes as they will not be so helpful in the future. People have different talents so they should focus on their talents and improve on them. You also need a good environment in order for you to flourish and be better at your talents. Since his dad was also an investor, he went to his dad’s workplace cafeteria and read the books that he says nobody else read that were on the table. As an investor, he did not really care about how his strategies worked, he just cared about whether it worked or not instead of going through the thought process everyone else went through to figure out how it worked and why, and that is kind of a limitation on him. He also enjoyed learning about investments, which also allows us to infer that if you are learning something, you first have to want to learn it. He also ran into a couple of teachers that helped him and were sympathetic to him. He put his time with outstanding people instead of the people that will not help him learn about investing and other subjects. You can find your own way to live and how to live that way, going down your own path and doing it your own way. |
