In Path of Exile 2, a serious trading and vendor interaction bug recently caused frustration for players dealing with Verisium materials. The issue specifically affects the Shift+Ctrl+Left Click bulk-buy system when interacting with the Farrow vendor, and in some cases it has led to significant resource loss.
The Problem: Bulk Purchase Consuming Entire Stock
The bug occurs when players attempt to use Shift+Ctrl+Click to quickly purchase Liquid Verisium while trading with Farrow.
Normally, this shortcut is designed to streamline bulk transactions. However, in this case, the system misfires:
Players with large stacks of Verisium Ore (sometimes thousands of units)
Attempt to bulk-buy Liquid Verisium using Shift+Ctrl+Click
The vendor interface processes the request incorrectly
The entire Verisium Ore stockpile is consumed
Only a single unit of Liquid Verisium is granted
In practical terms, it behaves like a full inventory wipe of raw ore for a near-zero return. For players who have been farming Verisium heavily, this can feel devastating, especially since the loss is immediate and irreversible in that session.
Why This Bug Is So Serious
This is not a minor UI glitch. It directly impacts resource conversion and progression economy.
Verisium is a key crafting and progression material in many mid-to-late systems, and bulk trading is a core quality-of-life feature. When that system breaks, it creates three major problems:
Loss of large accumulated farming progress in a single click
Broken trust in bulk vendor interactions
Risk of repeating the mistake due to muscle memory using Shift+Ctrl behavior
Because the bug triggers on a common shortcut, it’s easy for experienced players to accidentally activate it without realizing anything is wrong until the inventory is already gone.
Developer Acknowledgement and Fix Status
Grinding Gear Games has already acknowledged the issue publicly via their official social media channels, confirming that they are aware of the unintended behavior affecting Verisium transactions.
Path of Exile Official X Account
A permanent fix has since been rolled out in the 0.5.4 hotfix patch, which addresses the faulty bulk transaction logic and prevents the unintended full-stack consumption behavior.
If You Haven’t Updated Yet: Workaround
For players who are still on an older client version and may not have received the fix, caution is strongly advised.
Until the update is confirmed installed:
Avoid using Shift+Ctrl+Click when trading with Farrow
Do not attempt bulk purchases of Liquid Verisium
Use manual single-click purchases instead
Double-check transaction amounts before confirming any trade
While slower, manual purchasing is currently the safest method to ensure your stored Verisium Ore is not accidentally consumed.
This bug highlights how fragile bulk interaction systems can be when tied to high-value crafting resources. A single miscalculation in input handling can turn a quality-of-life feature into a full inventory risk.
With the 0.5.4 hotfix now deployed, most players should no longer encounter the issue—but anyone still running older builds should treat bulk trading with caution until fully updated.
